A 68-Year-Old Investor. A $25K Dilemma. A Real Answer.

I'm 68, disabled, and living off a workman’s comp settlement. I have $25,000 in my E*TRADE account but haven’t made any trades because I’m afraid of losing it. With so many options like Nvidia, Tesla, gold, oil, and AI, I feel like I’m missing out because I don’t know what the right moves are. – Mitch

Thanks for your note, Mitch. I understand that “missing out” feeling all too well. I actually felt the same way just a few weeks ago.
When markets sold off in early April during the tariff scare, I had the chance to buy options at a discount. The setup looked great. Volatility was spiking, fear was high, and history pointed to a likely V-shaped rebound. But I froze. I didn’t pull the trigger. And when stocks ripped higher days later, I felt that sting of FOMO big time.
That feeling is powerful – but it’s also dangerous. It pushes us to react emotionally and chase moves after they’ve already happened.
That’s why I focus so much on preparation over reaction here in The Million Mission. I constantly highlight high-quality companies with strong fundamentals and long-term potential. And I truly believe that no matter your experience level, if you read this newsletter consistently, you’ll become a better investor.
We’ve had a strong run-up in stocks lately, so I’m not eager to chase at these levels. But great opportunities always come – and when they do, I want us to be ready, patient, and confident enough to act.
You can count on me to bring those opportunities straight to your inbox.
Thanks for being part of The Mission. Let’s grow that $25,000 the right way.

Many thanks for your two examples of transferring money around the world using stablecoins. Can you please explain what mechanism is needed? Can both parties use Coinbase? – John

Thanks for the question, John. Yes, both parties can use Coinbase, but only if Coinbase is available in both countries.
Coinbase operates in over 100 countries, including the U.S., Canada, much of Europe, and parts of Latin America, Africa, and Asia. If you and the person you're sending to both have Coinbase accounts, you can:
  1. Buy USDC (a stablecoin) on Coinbase
  1. Send it directly to their Coinbase wallet address
  1. They can then convert it to their local currency through Coinbase and withdraw to their bank
This is one of the simplest and safest ways to send money with stablecoins – no need for a separate wallet like MetaMask, and no need to deal with blockchain networks or gas fees.
If the recipient’s country isn’t supported by Coinbase, they’ll need to use a different crypto wallet or exchange to receive and convert the funds.

You talk about stocks like Nvidia, Uber, and Meta that have all rocketed higher over the last few weeks/months. Is it too late to buy after this huge run? – Samantha

Great question, Samantha. When stocks like Nvidia, Uber, and Meta go on big runs, it’s natural to wonder if it’s too late. But I see these names as long-term winners – companies with real moats, strong earnings power, and exposure to major trends like AI, mobility, and digital infrastructure.
So no, I don’t think it’s too late at all. I’d be comfortable buying any of them right now for a long-term portfolio.
That said, my goal with The Million Mission is to grow my account from $100K to $1 million – and to get there, I’m looking for higher-upside trades using options. That’s why I prefer to wait for pullbacks in these names before making my moves. When fear spikes or the market dips, that’s when I want to be aggressive with options.
But for long-term investors? These are the kinds of stocks I’d feel good holding for years. You don’t have to time them perfectly – just own quality and let time do the heavy lifting.
