Buy Alert + ASTS + The CoreWeave Contagion

Thank you for sending in questions and feedback!

I read every single email I receive. I hope this Saturday email can clarify any questions you may have.

Let’s get to it.

First… A Buy Alert: EchoStar (ECHO)

I bought EchoStar this week in my Million Mission portfolio.
This is a straightforward idea that’s a bit difficult to explain.
So I’ll work over the weekend on how to simply explain this setup for all investor levels.
The short version is ECHO is a stock that’s got a stake in SpaceX worth over $40 billion, over $30 billion in cash from selling spectrum to SpaceX and AT&T, and a residual spectrum portfolio worth somewhere between $5-10 billion.
Subtract the company’s $18 billion in debt and $5-10 billion in money owed to cell tower companies… and you’ve got somewhere between $47 billion and $57 billion worth of equity value.
The market cap of the company is currently $25 billion.
Essentially, I expect this stock to double.
Stay tuned for a full writeup.

Although the problem is CoreWeave's business model, are there any specific companies that CoreWeave might bring down with it? For instance, Nvidia has been lending to companies buying its chips, and, if CoreWeave is a customer, could a default by CoreWeave adversely affect Nvidia? – Jim

Great question, Jim. CoreWeave’s current market cap sits around $38 billion while its debt load is around $50 billion.
To put this into perspective, Nvidia generates around $38 billion in revenue every 10 days and $50 billion in profit every quarter – with $10 billion to spare.
So Nvidia really isn’t the contagion story here.
The threat is that CoreWeave implodes → other “neoclouds” like Nebius and IREN implode as well → AI data center spending craters because of the lower demand for data center components etc.
This is the gist. Except I think it’s overblown and not realistic right now.
The AI buildout isn’t stopping. We’ve had countless scares like this over the last few years. Let’s revisit this topic in a week or two when investors start focusing on the next shiny new object.

How do you cope when you know your stocks will turn around (eventually) but know they have to rise 400-500 percent just to get even? I’m invested in AST SpaceMobile, Rocket Lab, and Intuitive Machines. – Tracy

Hi Tracy, I can’t see on a chart where any of these stocks have fallen enough to require a 400-500 percent gain to break even. But I understand the general direction of your question.
Unfortunately, losses are part of the game. I’ve got plenty myself – including on ASTS just this week.
But the long-term space trend is still very much intact. And I’m putting my own money to work to buy at these depressed prices.
One recommendation I’d have is to reread the article I posted on Wednesday: Save This Investing Tip for 2031.
But this time, ask yourself: If you had a time machine, when would you travel back to NOT buy this stock?
Seemingly, you bought at the absolute worst time when FOMO was high and investors were piling into space stocks.
Let’s learn from this in the future.

I read your recent email message "REVISED": My #1 Stock Market Indicator with great interest. Since then, I've gone to Yahoo Finance looking for the "Analysis" tab to no avail. It does not appear in the top row of tabs, and I've drilled down into subtabs but I haven't found it. – Ray

Hi, Ray. Thanks for the email.
  1. Type a stock ticker into the Quote Lookup bar.
  1. The Analysis tab will appear across the top row.

What is your take on Piper Sandler’s downgrade of AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) and how can one analyst put it at $54, another at $98, and another at $115? Keep up the good work. – Brett

Thanks for the question, Brett. Piper Sandler downgraded ASTS to Neutral at a $54 target, citing SpaceX launch risk.
This really is a problem for ASTS. Will Elon refuse to launch a competitor's satellites? Rocket Lab and Blue Origin aren’t helping the situation with their launch delays.
Ultimately, ASTS will get its satellites into orbit. And the company is one of the best partners for Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T to compete against Starlink.
As for the price targets… These are always all over the place. They’re always wrong. They’re constantly revised late. And there are plenty of politics that go into these numbers. So take them with a grain of salt.

Where Can I Read Previous Emails?

I constantly get questions regarding where to find previous alerts. Well, The Million Mission website is live and you can check out archived alerts here.
