Coinbase, Flying Cars + What I’m Buying
Thank you for sending in questions and feedback!
I read every single email I receive. I hope this Saturday email can clarify any questions you may have.
Let’s get to it.
First… A note about AST SpaceMobile
I got a few emails about SpaceX being considered a “common carrier,” and therefore unable to discriminate against launching AST SpaceMobile payloads.
Here’s Ray Blanco on the matter:
“Early this year the National Mediation Board (labor) ruled SpaceX was a common carrier under the Railway Labor Act, like railroads and airlines. SpaceX argued for that status too, for labor reasons. SpaceX has basically said they don't pick and choose customers. And Musk himself has publicly said they will launch competitor's payloads.”
Hello Davis. Have you heard any negative news about Coinbase (COIN)? – Tim
Tim, you sent me this email just hours before the Binance hack was reported.
Should I be suspicious?
As I type this, Coinbase is selling off along with the rest of crypto and tech. Between the Binance hack and a string of weak earnings reports, investors are heading for the exits.
But ultimately, this was a Binance problem. Coinbase wasn’t hacked. Bitcoin wasn’t hacked. Neither were the underlying blockchains.
As always, the market will move on to the next “shiny” object shortly.
Enjoy your newsletter and your take on the flying car opportunities. I think it was Joby Aviation (JOBY) you flew in Austin, wasn’t it? Which of the three flying car companies you discussed is the best play? – Monty
Thanks for being a loyal reader, Monty.
I flew LIFT Aircraft’s Hexa Multirotor aircraft. Here’s a picture of me flying about 50 feet above the ground in Austin, TX.

Joby (JOBY), Archer (ACHR), and Eve (EVEX) are the companies I talked about in my article Thursday. Joby is more advanced in the manufacturing and certification process – which makes it the favorite.
But all three have an impressive list of partnerships and contracts.
Owning all three as a speculative long-term position would be my preference.
Interesting article on flying cars and I agree the time to buy is generally when no one wants it. BUT, it would help if you explain the comparatives with helicopters; utility, cost, passenger capacity, maintenance, range, durability, etc. – David
Great point, David. What’s the difference between these vehicles and a helicopter?
Let me start by saying that Joby, Archer, and Eve are still developing and testing aircraft designed to seat between one and five people.
The biggest advantages are noise, accessibility, and maintenance.
Electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOLs) run on batteries and use multiple smaller electric motors and propellers rather than the large rotor and turbine engine found on a typical helicopter.
That makes them considerably quieter.
The Hexa aircraft I flew in was roughly as loud as a lawn mower.
That lower noise footprint, combined with their smaller size, will allow eVTOLs to operate in more places than a helicopter.
And because electric motors have fewer moving parts, maintenance costs should theoretically be lower as well.
Of course, we’ll have to wait and see if that proves true in the real world.
I'm confused. On October 26 you told us to invest in the future in space. I'm not understanding what you're telling me to invest in. – Harvey
Hi, Harvey. Thanks for the question. Any time you're confused, please send me an email!
The space stocks I like are AST SpaceMobile (ASTS), Rocket Lab (RKLB), Intuitive Machines (LUNR), and Redwire (RDW).
Are you going to invest in speculative trades only? Also, are you going to share your rules for investing? – Francisco
Hi, Francisco. You’ll see a mix of highly speculative trades, like Fannie Mae or the flying car stocks above, and what I consider relatively conservative trades, like Nvidia.
As for rules, there aren’t any. My goal is to make money wherever I see an attractive opportunity.
Along the way, I share insights almost every day that I hope will help you become a better investor as well.
One important thing to keep in mind: To 10X my money I’ll need to take a considereable amount of risk. That’s why I have funded The Million Mission portfolio entirely with money I can afford to lose.
That may not be the case for you or other readers, so everyone needs to consider their own risk tolerance before following any trade.
If I were to start today, should I buy all your stocks at current value? Currently most of them are down and on other sites are flagged as sells. – Ana
Hi, Ana. Thanks for the questions.
Nvidia and EchoStar are higher. Micron is higher or lower depending on the day. And Fannie Mae and AST SpaceMobile are in the red.
Follow whatever sites you wish. At the end of the day, it’s your money on the line.
At the moment, with my money I’ve chosen these five investments.
I’m holding all of them because I think they will move higher.
