Rocket Lab, ASTS, AI & Quantum

If you don’t read any stock market-related news this week… read this.

Because some of my favorite stocks just reported earnings.

And the insights they shared are definitely worth your attention.

Check out the biggest insights below:

Rocket Lab (RKLB) Reported Earnings on Monday

  • EPS: Loss of $0.08 vs. $0.03 loss expected
  • Revenue: $234.1 million vs. $231.6 million expected
  • Contract backlog: $2.36 billion

The stock slipped after earnings, but that's not what I'm focused on.

The biggest takeaway is that Neutron remains on schedule for its first launch in Q4 2026 or early 2027.

This is the rocket investors should be watching.

Today, Rocket Lab is best known for launching smaller payloads aboard Electron.

Neutron changes the game.

It's a medium-lift, reusable rocket capable of carrying 28,000 pounds into low Earth orbit – putting it in the same class as SpaceX's Falcon 9.

More importantly, much of Rocket Lab's future growth depends on Neutron.

The company already has billions of dollars in contracted business waiting for this vehicle.

Now let’s see if Rocket Lab can execute.

AST SpaceMobile Also Reported Earnings on Monday

  • EPS: Loss of $0.77 vs. $0.26 loss expected
  • Revenue: $31.5 million vs. $35.2 million expected
  • 2026 guidance: Maintained at $150 million-$200 million

This was one of the most exciting earnings calls I've listened to all year.

Every few minutes, management mentioned another market that could eventually become a multi-billion-dollar opportunity.

Most investors know AST for direct-to-device connectivity.

But that's only the beginning.

Management also discussed opportunities in:

  • Government communications
  • Custom-designed satellite handsets
  • Military and commercial radios
  • Satellite-enabled headsets and wearables
  • Drone connectivity
  • National satellite networks for countries wanting sovereign communications infrastructure (such as Japan's J-LEO initiative)
  • Emergency backup communications for governments
  • Space-based AI data centers – similar to what SpaceX has discussed

Whether all of these opportunities materialize remains to be seen.

But one thing is becoming clear: AST SpaceMobile is trying to build much more than a satellite-to-phone company.

CoreWeave and Nebius Reported Blowout Results

Both companies are so-called "neoclouds," leasing AI computing capacity to customers that don't want to build their own data centers.

And both reported spectacular earnings.

CoreWeave (CRWV):

  • EPS: Loss of $1.03 vs. $1.20 loss expected
  • Revenue: $2.58 billion vs. $2.56 billion expected

CEO Michael Intrator summed up demand with one sentence:

"Our near-term capacity remains effectively sold out."

Nebius (NBIS):

  • EPS: Loss of $0.68 vs. $0.72 loss expected
  • Revenue: $582 million vs. $570 million expected

CEO Arkady Volozh added:

"We closed our largest AI Cloud deals on our strongest terms to date, at prices that represent a step-change in the economics of our business."

Both stocks surged roughly 20% following earnings.

Yet some investors still believe the AI buildout is slowing…

Well... The CEOs actually taking the orders seem to disagree.

Quantinuum (QNT) Reported Earnings on Tuesday

In case you missed my alert yesterday, Quantinuum raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $28 million-$32 million, above Wall Street's expectation of $26.5 million.

The stock jumped 28% the following day.

Before the fear of missing out sets in, though, understand what that revenue actually represents.

This isn't a business selling quantum computers at scale to Fortune 500 companies... yet.

Much of today's revenue comes from research institutions, universities, government agencies, and other early adopters experimenting with the technology and preparing for the future.

In other words, quantum computing is still in the "prove the technology" phase – not the "mass commercialization" phase.

That's why I continue to view Quantinuum as a long-term speculative holding.

I expect years of excitement, disappointment, and plenty of opportunities to buy quantum stocks at more attractive prices.

The Biggest **Facepalm** of the Week

This week's award goes to the Bloomberg headline: S&P 500 Earnings Are So Good Investors Are Starting To Worry.

You read that correctly.

When corporate profits are weak, investors panic because earnings are falling.

When corporate profits are strong, investors panic because they might not grow quite as fast next year.

The market’s ability to worry about absolutely everything never ceases to amaze me.

Instead of overthinking every headline, let’s keep doing what we've always done: invest in great businesses.

Over the long run, that's worked a lot better than trying to time every market turn.
