Screws, Screws, Screws

The best stock tip I’ve heard all year didn’t come from Wall Street.

It came from a friend of mine who works in industrial supply.

He’s not a fund manager or a tech analyst.

He spends his days sourcing inventory (screws, bolts, nuts, tools, etc.) for companies across the U.S.

A few months ago, we were grabbing lunch when he said something that stopped me cold:

“I don’t have time for any other customers right now. Rocket Lab is taking everything.”

He explained they were expanding fast. Buying out his entire inventory. Scaling from 50 to 500 employees at a single facility.

This wasn’t some vague projection or investor slide deck.

This was real, measurable, boots-on-the-ground demand.

The kind of insight you can’t model in Excel.

My friend had already bought shares of Rocket Lab (RKLB), knowing exactly what he was seeing.

He’s probably up 150% since then.

That’s Peter Lynch-style investing in action.

Forget analyst price targets. Ignore the financial TV circus.

The best insights often come from the world right in front of you – if you’re paying attention.

Peter Lynch used to walk through malls, talk to waiters, and ask his kids what brands they were into.

That kind of “amateur sleuthing” helped him uncover 10x, even 100x winners years before Wall Street caught on.

And the strategy still works.

Rocket Lab is a company I’ve recommended before.

They’re quietly building the backbone of the next-generation space economy – launch vehicles, satellite infrastructure, and high-value government contracts.

But the moment I knew my conviction was right? It wasn’t from a balance sheet.

It was from hearing, directly, that this company was hiring like crazy and snapping up supply in real time.

We’re deep into earnings season now.

The Magnificent Seven are all reporting this week. Investors are on edge after Trump’s latest tariff comments. The S&P is hovering around all-time highs.

Everyone’s watching the same headlines.

But very few are doing what Peter Lynch did best: looking for insight in everyday places.

Think about it:

  • Which brands are your friends talking about constantly?
  • What apps have quietly become essential in your life?
  • Which restaurants are hiring while others are closing?
  • What companies can’t keep product on the shelves?

Sometimes, the best investment edge is simple: Observation.

You don’t need a Bloomberg Terminal. You don’t need a college degree.

You just need to notice what others overlook.

That’s what helped my friend get into Rocket Lab before the rally.

It’s what helped Peter Lynch find winners before they showed up on CNBC.

And it’s what can help you get ahead – especially in a market this noisy.

You already have access to better data than you think.

Start using it.
