The Wilson Family's WORST Investment Mistake

I got some much-needed family time this weekend.

Unsurprisingly, the stock market is one of the topics my family loves to talk about.

I got peppered with questions:

“Is AI a bubble?”
“Should I buy the dip in Oracle?”
“What’s going on with gold and silver?”
“Should I buy more crypto?”

Of course, I entertained all of them.

But once the questions slowed down I pointed something out.

“You’ve asked me about everything under the sun… except the one thing that actually matters.”

Everyone paused.

“Earnings.”

Someone laughed and said, “Come on, nobody wants to sit around reading earnings reports on the weekend.”

Another chimed in, “Stocks move on headlines now, not spreadsheets.”

And honestly… that reaction explains a lot about how people actually invest.

Most people don’t want to dig into earnings reports. They don’t want to read guidance or listen to conference calls.

They want stories. They want excitement. They want something that feels urgent.

So instead of paying attention to earnings they follow whatever is dominating social media or cable news that week.

A stock is going up? FOMO kicks in.

A stock is crashing? Panic sets in.

But over time, stock prices don’t follow emotions.

They follow results.

Companies either grow or they don’t. Demand either shows up or it fades. Profits either expand or they get squeezed.

Every few months, earnings season forces investors to face this reality.

All the noise and narratives get replaced with one simple question: Is the business actually performing?

That’s why earnings season matters so much.

It cuts through the noise and shows what’s really happening beneath all the excitement and fear.

Right now, we’re smack in the middle of earnings season again.

Below is a snapshot of companies reporting this week. And it’s a big one.

Earnings Releases

We’ll hear from companies across tech, consumer, energy, healthcare, and finance – giving investors one of the clearest looks yet at where to invest their money in 2026.

Here’s what I’ll be watching closely this week:

What’s really happening with AI demand? Alphabet, Amazon, AMD, Arm, Qualcomm, Palantir, and Uber all report, giving us fresh insight into cloud, chips, enterprise spending, and AI adoption.

If spending is slowing, we’ll hear it. If demand is still exploding, we’ll hear that too.

Is the consumer still strong? PayPal, Disney, Chipotle, Roblox, and Affirm provide clues about discretionary spending, travel, and entertainment trends.

What’s happening in energy and commodities? ConocoPhillips and Shell report as energy markets remain volatile. Barrick reports as commodity prices whipsaw higher and lower.

Want an insider view on where prices go from here? Read these reports.

Are healthcare and defensive sectors gaining traction? Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Merck, Pfizer, Amgen, and others help show where investors rotate if economic growth slows.

And finally, how healthy are markets themselves? Companies like CME Group, Cboe, and UBS offer signals on trading activity, risk appetite, and where institutional money is being invested.

Again, I cannot overstate how important earnings season is.

If you own any stocks that are reporting this week, expect your portfolio value to jump higher or lower.

Stocks can move fast during earnings season.

I recommend reading press releases and earnings call transcripts whenever possible.

Or you can simply stick with The Million Mission where I’ll be tracking everything and breaking down what matters most.

Look for a full rundown of the week’s biggest developments in a few days.
