$2,000 Down, $898,000 To Go

The first stretch of The Million Mission is in the books – and we’re not off to a moonshot, but we’re not crash-landing either.

This week, I’m sharing an important update on the portfolio, including where things stand after a few early trades, why Fannie Mae (FNMA) is turning into a standout position, and how I’m thinking about today’s overheated market.

I’ll also answer reader questions on stablecoins, fractional-share investing, and the new JPMorgan token making headlines.

Plus – two quick announcements, including where to follow the Mission in real time.

Let’s get into it.

Important Portfolio Update

The Million Mission portfolio is currently up about $2,000 overall. Nothing to write home about… But no need to call mission control either. A few early options trades didn’t go my way – small, calculated bets that fizzled out – but they were well-sized, and the impact was minimal.
The real highlight so far has been Fannie Mae (FNMA), which is now up 40% since I added the position.
This is exactly the kind of setup I look for: high reward potential, a major catalyst on the horizon, and a market that hasn’t fully priced it in. I believe FNMA still has room to run, but we’re in “wait mode” now. Until the White House makes an official announcement on ending conservatorship, I’m holding tight.
Looking at the broader market – stocks have rocketed higher over the past few weeks. That kind of momentum always sparks FOMO. But let’s stay disciplined. Chasing overextended charts at this stage in the rally rarely ends well.
This portfolio isn’t about keeping up with every move. It’s about catching the right ones at the right time.
Now time for some reader questions:

I'm getting ready to move $14K into Barclays 4% savings account mostly because it is easy to withdraw from if the funds are needed. How much trouble is there if I move into a stablecoin at 4.5% instead? How much trouble to withdraw some or all if needed? – David

If ease of access is your top priority, Barclays at 4% is probably the smarter choice. It’s FDIC-insured, simple, and withdrawals are fast and frictionless.
That said, I’m a big supporter of stablecoins – especially for their long-term potential and flexibility. Earning 4.5% on USDC via platforms like Coinbase can be a smart move, but it comes with trade-offs. Selling crypto to your Coinbase cash balance is instant, but bank withdrawals can take 1–3 business days, sometimes longer due to ACH delays or account holds.
So while I believe stablecoins will play a huge role in the future of finance, if you need fast, no-surprise access to your cash, Barclays is the better tool for the job – for now.

JPM just came out with a stablecoin called JPMD. How can I buy this? – Inge

Hi, Inge! Yes, JPMorgan has recently introduced JPMD, described as a deposit token rather than a traditional stablecoin, designed for institutional clients. Unlike public stablecoins like USDT or USDC, JPMD is a permissioned token, meaning it is currently available only to JPMorgan's approved institutional clients, such as corporations and pension funds, and not to individual retail investors like yourself.
If you're interested in similar assets, you might explore other stablecoins available on public exchanges, but JPMD itself is not currently an option for individual purchase.

I wonder if you might have any specific advice for someone who is investing at the fractional share level? Example, I bought Rocket Lab when you recommended it and am up $36! I can imagine what that would be like if I could invest $10,000... but when trying to build up from peanuts, how do I know when to take a profit and when to hold on long term? – Jessica

Thanks for writing in, Jessica! And congrats on the Rocket Lab gains! While I may be starting with $100,000 at my disposal, anyone can start with any amount they’re comfortable with.
The decision to sell or hold long-term is actually made before you even buy a stock.
You’ve got to have a concrete thesis for buying a stock. The next step after you buy is to follow the stock closely to see if your thesis is panning out. If it’s not panning out and/or becoming less likely to pan out, sell.
If I recommend a stock here in The Million Mission, stay tuned to future alerts where I’ll alert you if a thesis is or isn’t panning out.

Will you be writing The Million Mission in the past tense or are you planning to share trades in real time? – Karen

Real time, Karen! Follow along if you like. Just know that this is a high-risk high-reward strategy that is not suitable for all investors.
